Botox in New Jersey

Botox® is one of the most recognizable names in cosmetics, largely due to its versatility and efficacy. At Atlantic Surgical Associates, we provide Botox® treatments to patients living in Edison, West Long Branch, New Brunswick, and the surrounding areas of New York and New Jersey.

What is Botox®?

Botox® in New JerseyBotox® is one of the leading injectable treatments, made up of an ingredient known as botulinum toxin. Botulinum toxin is a neuromodulator, which blocks nerve signals to the brain. When injected into the face, it can be used to block wrinkle-causing muscle contractions around the eyes and forehead. As such, Botox® is a popular solution for crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles. However, Botox® can also be used for migraines and hyperhidrosis. In these cases, Botox® will block nerve signals, preventing migraines and excessive sweating to provide patients with effective, long-lasting relief.

How Much Does Botox® Cost?

The cost of your Botox® treatment will vary depending on your desired results and the extent of treatment required to produce those results. During your consultation, you and Dr. Volshteyn will discuss your cosmetic goals in order to determine the best approach to your Botox® treatment. Once your treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the cost of your treatment. What is the Botox® Treatment Like?

Before your Botox® treatment, we will apply a topical anesthetic to the skin in order to minimize any discomfort from the injection process.  Once the skin is adequately numbed, injections will be performed in and around the desired treatment area. The number of injections required will depend on your individual cosmetic goals. The injection process takes only a few minutes, meaning that the entire Botox® treatment takes less than 30 minutes. This makes it a convenient solution for patients with a busy schedule or for those who are trying to squeeze in a cosmetic treatment during their lunch break.

Is There Any Downtime After the Botox® Treatment?

Botox®, like other dermal filler and injectable treatments, requires absolutely no downtime or recovery period. In fact, you will be able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after your appointment. Patients can expect minor swelling, bruising or redness in the treatment area, but these effects typically fade within a day or two.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Botox®?

The Botox® formula takes a few days to take effect in the body, so you may begin to notice results gradually during the week following treatment. The full results of your treatment should be visible within a week, and will last approximately four to six months. After this time period, you can easily receive additional Botox® treatments to maintain your results.
