A brachioplasty is an ideal procedure for sculpting the upper arms to achieve a firmer, more youthful appearance. At Atlantic Surgical Associates, we are proud to offer this technique to residents of West Long Branch, East Brunswick, Edison, NJ and surrounding areas.
What is a Brachioplasty?
A brachioplasty, commonly referred to as an arm lift, is a surgical procedure that is designed to enhance the contours of the upper arms. The arm lift treatment can reduce loose skin and excess fat to produce a firmer, more toned appearance. This treatment may be ideal for patients who have developed loose skin as a result of aging or after significant weight loss. It may also be effective for patients who find that they have small pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Whatever your reason for considering an arm lift, we can help you achieve your cosmetic goals at Atlantic Surgical Associates.
How Much Does a Brachioplasty Cost?
The cost of your brachioplasty treatment will vary depending on the extent of surgery necessary to produce your desired results. During your consultation, you and Dr. Volshteyn will discuss your cosmetic goals in order to determine the best approach to your arm lift procedure. Once your treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the cost of your treatment. What is the Arm Lift Procedure Like?
Arm lifts are performed under general anesthesia to keep patients safe and comfortable during the procedure. The incisions made for your arm lift will be located on the inside of the arm, extending from the elbow to the armpit. Patients who require less extensive surgery may be eligible for shorter incisions. Through these incisions, Dr. Volshteyn will remove excess skin and fat to reshape the arms and produce the desired results. Then, the incisions will be closed and the treatment will be complete.
What is the Recovery Period Like After an Arm Lift?
After an arm lift procedure, patients may need to take about one week off of work and other normal activities in order to rest and heal. During this time, it is common to experience bruising, swelling, and varying levels of discomfort. After the initial recovery period, patients will have to take extra care to avoid exercise and other strenuous activities for at least a month. Patients are encouraged to get as much rest as possible during this time in order to facilitate a speedy recovery.
Are the Results from an Arm Lift Permanent?
The arm lift procedure permanently eliminates fat and excess skin from the arms, producing long-lasting and even permanent body contouring results. However, the results from your arm lift procedure can be affected by future changes in weight, as well as the natural aging process. We encourage patients to maintain healthy diet and exercise habits in order to make their results last as long as possible.
