What Are Laser Treatments?
Laser treatments are advanced cosmetic procedures that use light energy to address cosmetic concerns such as wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, scars, and more. Laser treatments are popular solutions because they are able to precisely target the desired treatment areas without harming the surrounding tissue. Plus, many laser treatments are able to stimulate collagen production as a secondary benefit. With increased collagen production, patients can enjoy enhanced skin volume and elasticity. Atlantic Surgical Associates specializes in the following laser treatments:
- IPL Photofacial
- Laser Skin Resurfacing
How Much Do Laser Treatments Cost?
The cost of your laser treatment will vary depending on the laser techniques used and the extent of treatment required to produce those results. During your consultation, you and Dr. Volshteyn will discuss your cosmetic goals in order to determine the best approach to your laser treatment. Once your treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the cost of your treatment. What Are Laser Treatments Like?
Many laser treatments use a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort during treatment. However, some of these treatments are quite comfortable, and require no anesthetic whatsoever. During the treatment, we will apply precise laser energy to the desired treatment areas. You may feel a mild stinging or heating sensation in the skin during this time. Most laser treatments take about 30 minutes to perform, although some of these treatments may take up to an hour or longer depending on the size of the treatment area.
Is There Any Downtime After Laser Treatments?
The recovery period after your laser treatment will depend on the intensity of the laser procedure. Some procedures will have minimal downtime, while other procedures may require you to adjust your activities and skin care routines over the following days. Most often, patients will experience dryness, redness, or peeling of the skin following their laser treatment. It will be especially important to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight after your laser treatment, as the skin will be highly sensitive.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Laser Treatments?
While laser treatments can produce instant results, the majority of laser treatments will take a few days or weeks to produce noticeable results. Most often, patients begin to notice results after the skin heals and collagen production increases in the body. In some cases, multiple laser treatment sessions will be needed for optimal results.
