If you are looking for a way to sculpt the body and thighs for a firmer, more youthful appearance, you may want to consider a thigh and body lift. At Atlantic Surgical Associates, we are proud to offer this and other body sculpting surgeries to patients living in and around West Long Branch, New Jersey, and the surrounding communities in Ocean, Essex, and Monmouth counties.
What is a Thigh Lift?
A thigh lift is a surgical technique that is used to eliminate stubborn fat and excess skin on the legs, producing a firmer, more sculpted appearance. The thighs are a common problem area for fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. Additionally, loose skin that has developed due to weight loss or the aging process can cause discomfort if the legs are frequently rubbing together. A thigh lift can correct all of these concerns, producing slimmer, contoured legs that complement the rest of the figure. At Atlantic Surgical Associates, we offer both inner and outer thigh lift procedures.
The thigh lift (or thighplasty) is often combined with a body lift (lipectomy) to improve your overall body contours.
What is a Body Lift?
A body lift is a comprehensive body sculpting procedure that improves the body’s contours and addresses excess skin and fat, especially after significant weight loss. A full lower body lift treats the abdomen, waist, buttocks, hips, and thighs in a single procedure. An upper body lift, meanwhile, treats the breasts, chest, and back.
How Much Does a Thigh and Body Lift Cost?
The cost of your body and thigh lift treatment will vary depending on the extent of surgery necessary to produce your desired results. During your consultation, you and Dr. Volshteyn will discuss your cosmetic goals in order to determine the best approach to your thigh lift procedure. Once your treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the cost of your treatment. How to Get a Thigh Gap
A thigh gap is a cosmetic trait that many people desire, but it can be difficult to attain – even with the strictest diet and exercise regimen. If you are unable to attain a thigh gap with these efforts, a thigh lift procedure may be able to help. With a thigh lift, we can eliminate excess skin and fat on the inside of the thighs to produce the desired aesthetic results.
What is the Difference Between Inner and Outer Thigh Lifts?
Inner and outer thigh lifts can be performed as a full thigh lift treatment or separately for patients who are only concerned with specific areas of the legs. An inner thigh lift targets the inside of the legs. This is often an ideal treatment for patients who are experiencing discomfort due to loose skin and the legs rubbing together. An outer thigh lift addresses the outside of the legs and towards the hips. This procedure can produce more noticeable results in terms of a patient’s overall figure.
The outer thigh lift is generally considered part of a lower body lift, but an inner thigh lift can also be added to your treatment.
What is the Body Lift Procedure Like?
A lower body lift is a lengthy surgical procedure that comes with a long recovery process. Depending on the extent of correction needed, you may need up to several days of hospitalization before returning home.
A lower body lift is performed under general anesthesia and treats the thighs, hips, waist, abdomen, and buttocks during a single surgery. The incision for the procedure is similar to an extended tummy tuck incision, which extends completely around the lower torso. This allows the skin and tissue of the thighs and buttocks to be lifted and tightened. The length and location of incisions will depend on the amount and location of excess skin that will be removed.
The lower body lift can be combined with other procedures like liposuction or, more commonly, an inner thigh lift.
What is the Recovery Period Like After a Body Lift?
After a body lift procedure, patients may need to take a week or two off of work and other normal activities in order to rest and heal. During this time, it is common to experience bruising, swelling, and varying levels of discomfort. After the initial recovery period, patients will have to take extra care to avoid exercise and other strenuous activities for at least a month. Patients are encouraged to get as much rest as possible during this time in order to facilitate a speedy recovery.
Are the Results from a Body Lift Permanent?
The lower body and thigh lift procedure permanently eliminates fat and excess skin from the legs, buttocks, abdomen, and hips, producing long-lasting and even permanent body contouring results. However, the results from your procedure can be affected by future changes in weight as well as the natural aging process. We encourage patients to maintain healthy diet and exercise habits in order to make their results last as long as possible.
